Designated as a specialty practice,

SPC is intrinsically serving as a psychiatric provider, focused on the diagnosis, medication treatment and management of psychiatric disorders; yet functions and offers much more due to its provider and owner, NP David J Campopiano ANP, PMHNP distinct clinical skill set meriting the title of the practice name.

A Yale graduate, earning dual board certification and licensure in adult health and psychiatric care, with 21 years practice experience,  NP Campopiano provides comprehensive psychiatric care, integrating functional medicine in psychiatric practice.  This medical integration allows for targeted, most accurate diagnosis and treatment as underlying medical conditions are  evaluated and addressed, making this approach to psychiatric care fundamental to his practice goal of achieving lifelong, best patient health outcomes.

NP Campopiano founded SPC in response to the concerning state of patient care in healthcare delivery as he's witness progressively decline in primary and specialty care alike, effecting everyone as patients; yet predominantly having the gravest of impact on the most vulnerable, those living with psychiatric conditions and symptoms.   A population who more often experience prejudgment and dismissed medical concerns. They are most likely to be misdiagnosed and overprescribed while trapped in endless deferred care cycles from primary to psychiatry, gaining only an unchecked, expansive medication list.

The driving force of this deterioration of patient care rises from the effects of the increasingly higher cost involved in running a practice in today's health care cost crisis, specifically those fueled by the escalating expense incurred to meet the insurance industry's self-serving regulations.   These insurance requirements, the corporate interest it lures and the expense it perpetuates has imposed such burdensome conditions on patient care services and its providers that traditionally structured practices can no longer afford offering quality time for their patients, as time, must work to sustain their operation.  To that end, inadvertently in favor of maximizing daily visit quotas, yet in discord with their written mission statements, patient care is left hinged on diminishing visit time blocks solely able to support superficial solutions that are short-lived; their service ultimately falls short of promoting their purpose, patient health.

In contrast, established to provide personalized, patient-centered care, SPC runs its operations unlike most.  Designated as a micro-practice, SPC is structured to run with minimal, necessary staff and office setting to allow greater investment in the patient-provider relation.   This setting, sustained and managed by the practice administrator, Michelle Prats, allows NP Campopiano to render care guided by a patient's needs, as he deems clinically necessary to implement the best treatment plans that bring forth real solutions to presenting problems.

With the freedom to practice as trained, and hopeful his service can be one of many to follow in helping to ignite positive change in patient care, NP Campopiano is committed in daily practice to reunify patient health with care delivery, one patient at a time.
